A Rustic Luxe rural escape in Somerset with Hot Tub
-
The hut was built by a local shepherd's hut builder and furnished using reclaimed materials. It is insulated with wool, designed to be warm in winter and cool in summer keeping energy consumption as low as possible.
-
We are maintaining our traditional orchard as an ecosystem by planting cider apple trees and using sustainable farming methods on the land and hedgerows to allow wild bird and insects to flourish.
-
The wood provided for the wood burner and Hot Tub are sourced from our land, and we offer rechargeable lanterns so it is possible to stay in the hut with an almost zero carbon footprint.
-
You may occasionally notice the low buzz of the chemical-free water treatment plant, which returns phosphate free water to the stream at the far end of the orchard. All the toiletries and cleaning products provided in the hut are biodegradable to support the water treatment system.
-
Our breakfast packs are sourced from local food producers from a farm shop less than a mile away.
-
We encourage guests to avoid the use of cars to get to us by offering a 10% discount to those arriving on foot or by bike.
