• Explore the traditional cider orchard on your doorstep, teeming with wildlife and home to a small flock of Jakob's sheep (or just watch them from the hot tub!) ​

 

• Walk from the hut, it's a 30 minute loop around the top of Cadbury Castle, you can still see the ramparts to deter Roman invaders!  For longer hikes hit the Monarch's Way trail towards the pretty village of Sandford Orcas, over the border in Dorset.

• Sip local Somerset cider from apples in our surrounding orchards from Kingbrains, stock up on the famous Montgomery cheddar or visit the Chapel Cross tea room goats and try some of their delicious cheese.

• Hike or bike to a range of excellent local pubs, or book ahead for award winning restaurants including Horrell & Horrell in Sparkford and Roth Bar and Grill, near Bruton.

• Cycle, paddle or wild swim along the River Parrett through the Somerset Levels, or head south into the rolling hills of Dorset - we're less than an hour to the sea!

• Visit the world famous gardens of The Newt, or Piet Oudolf’s beautiful planting at the Hauser & Worth Gallery (15min drive)

• Watch spectacular starling murmurations filling the winter skies over the Somerset levels, or spot otters at Westerhay Moor year round.

• The area is full of historic homes and estates. The majestic grounds of Stourhead will be familiar to fans of Pride and Prejudice whilst the pretty Montacute House, and  Lytes Cary are also within 25 mins drive.​​
